Arsenal news: Mikel Arteta plotting to raid Premier League rivals for midfield star

Arsenal could be set to raid their Premier League rivals once again...

Arsenal have had an inconsistent start to the Premier League season, with the Gunners currently six points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Mikel Arteta’s side has been plagued by injuries, with key players such as Martin Ødegaard, Gabriel Magalhāes and Riccardo Calafiori among those who have been sidelined so far this season.

The North Londoners suffered a huge downturn in form when they lost their captain, Ødegaard, and are noticeably light in midfield depth.

The Gunners have been forced to rely on Hale End youngsters Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, who have stepped up when needed.

However, with the January transfer window just around the corner, Arteta is set to raid Premier League rivals Chelsea yet again, according to Caught Offside.

From West to North London

Over the years, several big names have moved between Arsenal and Chelsea, such as Petr Cech, William Gallas and Olivier Giroud.

In recent seasons, Jorginho and Kai Havertz have also both made the move to the Emirates, with the latter reviving his career in North London.

The German joined Arsenal in June 2023 for £65million and has been an excellent addition to the Gunners’ front line, contributing 34 G/A in 18 months at the club.

Raheem Sterling is the most recent player to move between the clubs, however, the 30-year-old has struggled for game time since moving across to the red side of London on loan.

Struggled at Stamford Bridge

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has struggled to make a real impact at Chelsea since joining Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The 26-year-old has been limited to just 55 minutes of Premier League football after following Enzo Maresca to the West Londoners from Championship winners Leicester City.

The midfielder has only been able to get on the pitch in the EFL Cup and UEFA Conference League and will undoubtedly be eager to get more game time.

Arsenal are reported to be interested and could be an excellent destination for the Englishman to get his career back on track.

Dewsbury-Hall is a brilliant talent and led Leicester City to the Championship title last season, scoring 12 goals and contributing 14 assists.

The Blues castaway has attracted plenty of potential suitors, with the Foxes, Fulham, Rangers, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Brentford and Manchester United all reportedly interested.
