Crystal Palace have won the race for Jørgen Strand Larsen after agreeing a £43 million deal with Wolves, with a further £5 million in add-ons potentially taking the transfer to £48 million.

It brings an end to a rollercoaster January saga for the Norwegian striker, who has been at the centre of a tug-of-war between Palace and Leeds United throughout the window.

Both clubs pushed hard for his signature, but it is Oliver Glasner’s side who have finally landed their man.

Wolves and Rob Edwards have now accepted Palace’s latest offer, and attention turns to the clock as both clubs scramble to complete the paperwork ahead of tonight’s 7pm transfer deadline.

CHAIN REACTION

Strand Larsen’s arrival could have major implications for Palace’s forward line – and may finally unlock an exit for Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The French striker has been strongly linked with AC Milan, but his proposed move is believed to have stalled due to Palace’s reluctance to sanction a sale without a replacement in place.

With Strand Larsen now on the verge of sealing his Selhurst Park switch, Mateta’s future could be resolved before the window slams shut.

Deadline day drama at Palace is far from over.
