Chelsea are reportedly open to selling Alejandro Garnacho just one year after his arrival, as concerns grow over both his performances and attitude at Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old winger joined Chelsea from Manchester United in a deal worth around £40 million in the summer of 2025. However, his future is already in doubt heading into the 2026 summer transfer window.
Reports from multiple outlets suggest there is now an acceptance within the club that the move has not worked out as expected.
Reports claim Chelsea would be willing to listen to offers. Internal concerns over his attitude have allegedly played a significant role in that stance.
This comes following the Blues’ 1-0 loss to Manchester United on Saturday, April 18. When facing his old club, the Argentine came on as a substitute and failed to impress yet again.
Struggles for form and consistency
Garnacho has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter this season. He has made a limited impact in the Premier League, with most of his goal contributions coming in cup competitions rather than top-flight matches.
His inconsistency has reportedly frustrated members of the coaching staff, with competition for places on the wing also increasing.
Under manager Liam Rosenior, Garnacho has often found himself on the bench, with other attacking options preferred in key matches.
This lack of trust has added to speculation that Chelsea could look to move him on as part of a wider squad reshuffle in the summer.

Off-field concerns add to pressure
Off-field issues have also contributed to the situation. According to reports, Garnacho’s behaviour has been questioned.
Former United midfielder Nicky Butt labelled aspects of his attitude a “disgrace” following his time at Old Trafford.
Speaking on The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast, Butt said: “The best thing for me that Manchester United did was sell him because, forget his ability, I don’t think he’s that great anyway.
“However, his attitude for me was a disgrace when he was at United.”
Summer decision looming
Chelsea’s willingness to sell reflects a broader strategy of regularly reshaping the squad, particularly when players fail to meet expectations.
The club remain in the hunt for European qualification this season, but decisions are already being made with the next campaign in mind.
Despite his struggles, Garnacho is still viewed as a player with significant potential, and interest from other clubs is expected if Chelsea formally places him on the market.
With the summer window approaching, his situation is likely to develop quickly, as Chelsea weigh up whether to cut their losses or give the winger more time to adapt.
