Barcelona transfer news: Karim Adeyemi agrees personal terms as Marcus Rashford replacement

Karim Adeyemi agrees personal terms with Barcelona

Barcelona have taken a major step towards signing Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi after reportedly agreeing personal terms with the Germany international.

The Spanish champions are now in talks with Dortmund over a transfer fee, with the Bundesliga club expected to demand between €30 million and €40 million for the 24-year-old.

Reports suggest Barcelona have already submitted an official offer as they look to complete the deal quickly.

Barcelona turn to Adeyemi after Rashford decision

Adeyemi has emerged as Barcelona’s preferred attacking target after the club decided against making Marcus Rashford’s loan move permanent.

Rashford enjoyed a successful spell at Camp Nou last season, and Barcelona had the option to sign him on a permanent deal.

However, the club chose not to activate the clause, instead turning their attention to Adeyemi as a younger long-term option.

According to reports in Spain, Adeyemi has already informed Dortmund that Barcelona is his preferred destination.

The winger is said to have no interest in extending his current contract, which is due to expire in 2027, strengthening Barcelona’s position in negotiations.

The Catalan club are hoping to lower Dortmund’s asking price during talks and could even explore including players as part of the deal if negotiations become more complicated.

Flick wants more attacking options

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick is believed to have approved the move as he looks to add more pace and directness to his attack ahead of the new season.

Adeyemi is capable of playing on either wing or through the middle, giving Flick another versatile option in the final third.

His speed and ability to press from the front have made him one of the Bundesliga’s most dangerous attacking players over the past few seasons.

Despite interest from other clubs in recent transfer windows, Adeyemi’s priority now appears to be a move to Camp Nou.

Barcelona are hopeful that the player’s desire to join will help them reach an agreement with Dortmund in the coming days.

Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, but Barcelona are increasingly confident they can secure the signing and hand Flick another important addition as they prepare to defend their La Liga title.
