Manchester United have been handed another concern over JJ Gabriel’s future after the highly-rated teenager reportedly secured the services of a prominent agent.
The 15-year-old has asked to leave United after a difficult few weeks surrounding his future at Old Trafford.
Gabriel has now reportedly enlisted Ali Barat, who could help arrange a move away from the club once the youngster turns 16 on October 6.
Gabriel’s future remains uncertain
Gabriel has attracted significant interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich reportedly among those to have made contact.
The teenager has also previously been linked with Barcelona and Arsenal, highlighting the level of attention surrounding his situation.
United were reportedly surprised by Barat’s involvement, particularly given the youngster’s age. Under the current rules, Gabriel cannot officially secure representation until he turns 16.
Barat is expected to become his official representative once that happens, having already established links with clubs interested in signing the United academy prospect.
Gabriel’s situation first became public last week when he reportedly asked Man United to cancel his registration.
The club have turned down that request, leaving both sides at an impasse over his future.
The teenager has been one of the standout players in United’s academy and recently scored a hat-trick in a UEFA Youth League match against Sabah.
He had also been training with the first team and was expected to be involved in the senior squad before his decision to leave emerged.

Manchester United remain committed to Carrick
Away from Gabriel’s situation, United are also dealing with uncertainty surrounding Michael Carrick.
The club have entered the international break without a win in their last three matches after defeats to Manchester City and Brighton were followed by a 1-1 draw against Fulham.
Despite the poor run, reports indicate that Man United’s hierarchy are not currently considering replacing Carrick.
Antonio Conte has been linked with the manager’s position, but there are reportedly no discussions taking place over a potential successor.
For now, Carrick retains the club’s backing, while Manchester United will hope to return from the international break in better form.
