Barcelona have agreed a deal in principle with Arsenal to sign Gabriel Jesus for £8.6 million (€10m).
All parties are now working through the final details of the transfer, which is moving towards completion.
The 29-year-old had also been linked with a move to Serie A side Napoli. However, Barcelona have moved first and secured an agreement with Arsenal.
Jesus’s Arsenal career
Jesus joined the Gunners from Manchester City four years ago in a £45 million deal. He has scored 32 goals in 123 appearances for Arsenal. Last season, though, he managed just three Premier League starts.
A serious knee injury suffered in a January 2025 FA Cup tie against Manchester United kept him out for most of the previous campaign.
He has made 64 appearances for Brazil but has not featured for the national team since November 2023.

Flick’s view and Barcelona’s plans
Barcelona have been looking to strengthen their attacking options. Head coach Hansi Flick said the club was on a “good path” with its squad and recruitment.
“Of course I am happy with my team,” Flick said ahead of Barcelona’s game against Rayo Vallecano.
“Deco [football director] is working to strengthen the team. This is what he’s doing. But we don’t have the pressure. Deco has done until now a fantastic job.
“It’s good to me, just to see the quality during trainings. As a coach this is the most important thing. We are on a good path at the moment.”
Sky Sports News understands that the move for Jesus is completely separate from Barcelona’s interest in Julian Alvarez.
The two pursuits are not linked, and will not stop Barcelona’s pursuit of Alvarez.
Arsenal’s other outgoing
Meanwhile, Arsenal have also agreed a deal to sell midfielder Fabio Vieira to Hamburg. That transfer is expected to be worth around £7.7 million, and Vieira is travelling to Germany to finalise the move.
Jesus’s potential departure would free up space in Arsenal’s attacking ranks after a difficult period marked by injury and limited game time.
For Barcelona, the signing would add experience and depth to their forward line as they continue to shape the squad under Flick.
