Arsenal news: Arsenal favourites to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star as Champions League clubs circle

Arsenal kept the pressure on Premier League leaders Liverpool on Wednesday after coming from behind to beat Brentford 3-1.

Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus was on target again, scoring his sixth goal in four games, as Kai Havertz was left out due to illness.

The Gunners remained without their key man Bukayo Saka, who could be sidelined until early March with a thigh injury he picked up against Crystal Palace.

With Mikel Arteta’s men looking to keep their noses in the Premier League title race, the North Londoners may look to the January transfer window to bolster their attacking options.

Gunners want Bundesliga star

As reported by GiveMeSport, Arsenal are leading the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt and Egypt striker Omar Marmoush.

The 25-year-old has been in red-hot form this season, bagging 30 goal contributions in all competitions for Frankfurt.

Primarily a centre-forward, the Egyptian can also play out wide and slightly further down the pitch, offering versatility that would be invaluable to the Gunners.

With Marmoush valued at €60million, Die Alder is likely to demand a fee far above that if they are to allow one of their best players to leave the club halfway through the season.

Champions League competition

Arsenal is not the only club keen to bring Marmoush in this January, as Premier League rivals Liverpool are also reportedly interested.

French outfit Paris Saint-Germain and Italian side AC Milan have also registered their interest in the six-foot forward.

Frankfurt will be sure to charge a pretty penny if they are to sell their main man this month, which could mean any potential move is unlikely until the summer.
