Chelsea news: Christopher Nkunku offered to Champions League clubs as France international unhappy with game time
Chelsea have had a fantastic run in the Premier League so far this season, with the Blues flying high in second place.
Enzo Maresca has had a huge selection of players to choose from, with the Italian able to change his starting lineup entirely depending on the competition.
While this strategy has proved effective on the pitch, it has begun to stir up some issues off it.
Not enough minutes
France international Christopher Nkunku has made it no secret that he is unhappy with the number of minutes he gets at Stamford Bridge this season.
The 27-year-old has played just 308 minutes of Premier League football this season, making only two starts in a Chelsea shirt.
Nkunku has only found regular playing time in other competitions this campaign, with the Frenchman starting every game but one in the West Londoners UEFA Conference League and Carabao Cup campaigns.
Racking up a tally of 12 goals and four assists this season, Nkunku’s talent is undeniable, with a host of clubs eager on the forward.
A move on the horizon?
As the January transfer window looms, Nkunku’s agent appears to have been working hard to earn his Christmas bonus.
Pini Zahavi, who represents the attacker, has reportedly offered his client to La Liga giants Barcelona, according to Spanish outlet Sport45.
The Catalan club is currently without its key player, Lamine Yamal, for the foreseeable future, which could prompt Barcelona to make a move for Nkunku to take some workload off the youngster.
As per TBR Football, Paris Saint-Germain, Fenerbahçe, and Galatasaray are all also interested in the Frenchman.
