Premier League betting tips: Man City legend Kevin De Bruyne tipped for move to join Lionel Messi in the MLS
Manchester City have been a shadow of their former selves this season.
The Cityzens’ campaign went from bad to worse in midweek after a Champions League exit at the hands of LaLiga giants Real Madrid.
Kevin De Bruyne, who has played a huge role in City’s success over the last 10 years, has been one of several underperforming players.
The 33-year-old has struggled with multiple hamstring issues over the last two seasons, and those injuries look to have taken a toll on the Belgian.
With the midfielder’s contract up in June, rumours are swirling as to where the City captain will play his football next season.
De Bruyne could be in line for a huge payday wherever he ends up - and so could you, as Transfer News Blitz’s Content Editor Edward Moss explores the best odds on the Belgium international’s next club.
Any MLS team
In recent years, the MLS has been able to attract some of football’s biggest stars.
Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have teamed up at Inter Miami CF, whereas Italian Lorenzo Insigne plays for Toronto.
Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr. was even in discussions for a transfer to the MLS in January, however, the 33-year-old opted to rejoin Santos.
It would be no surprise if De Bruyne made a move across the pond - and clearly, the bookies agree.
BEST ODDS: 10/11 (bet365)
Stay at Manchester City
There is still a huge chance that De Bruyne will stay at Man City, with it clear to see that the Belgian still has a lot to offer to the reigning Premier League champions.
Despite his injury problems over the last two seasons, the midfielder has still tallied nine goals and 24 assists in all competitions.
City have still not put a new contract on the table, but there is every possibility that they could do before June 30.
BEST ODDS: 7/4 (bet365)
Any Saudi Arabian team
Saudi Pro League clubs will be rubbing their hands together at the prospect of luring one of Europe’s best players to the Middle East.
Last summer, De Bruyne was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia but opted to stay in Manchester.
However, speaking to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, the midfielder expressed he would be open to any move.
He said: “I have more than enough money, but if an absurd amount comes… that is also for my family, my relatives, my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren and my friends.”
You might not become as rich as De Bruyne, but Saudi Arabia could be a good destination to take a punt on.
BEST ODDS: 7/2 (bet365)
Girona
The more out-there option on this list, there are huge odds for De Bruyne to join LaLiga outfit Girona in the summer.
Whilst on the surface, this may seem very random, the Spanish club are part of the City Group, which is owned by the Abu Dhabi United Group.
There have already been examples of inter-group transfers, such as Savinho signing for Manchester City from Ligue 2 side Troyes last summer.
This is certainly an unlikely one, but you never know…
