Tottenham news: Spurs linked with Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani

Tottenham Hotspur are one of many clubs trying to negotiate a deal with Paris Saint-Germain for forward Randal Kolo Muani this January.

The French forward arrived at the Parisien club in the summer of 2022 for a €90million package from Eintracht Frankfurt, however, has struggled this season after starting just two games in Ligue 1 and making zero starts in the Champions League.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Kolo Muani will “100% leave” the French side, with Tottenham, Juventus and Manchester United contacting PSG for his services.

Injury crisis at Spurs

Spurs have suffered greatly with injuries in all areas of their squad this season, forwards Richarlison, Mikey Moore and Wilson Odobert have all missed games through injury or illness leaving Spurs light in attacking areas.

Kolo Muani’s ability to play across the front three positions would be a useful tool for Ange Postecoglou’s side, especially since they are also competing in the Europa League as well as three domestic competitions.

Postecoglou had suggested in his pre-Liverpool press conference that another forward would be something he would desire.

He said: “Hopefully in the very near future we get some help for him [Dominic Solanke] and then I think we’ll see him go to another level.”

When asked whether he was referring to a new signing or players returning from injury to help Solanke, the Australian replied: “Both. It’s hopefully what we can do but I wouldn’t suggest tomorrow.

“It’s got to be the right fit, is that going to happen this window? I’m not sure.”

Is Kolo Muani a good fit?

Despite struggling since his big-money move to the French capital, Kolo Muani had warranted such a fee due to his outstanding last full season in Germany in the 2022/23 season.

He racked up 23 goals and 14 assists in 46 games for Frankfurt in his first season, after arriving on a free transfer from Ligue 1 side Nantes.

This form caught the attention of French national team boss, Didier Deschamps, who gave Kolo Muani his first senior international cap in September 2022.

He has since gone on to earn 27 caps for Les Bleus, scoring eight goals.

According to L’Equipe, Kolo Muani is keen on the idea of playing in the Premier League.
