Chelsea are preparing for a busy summer transfer window, with new manager Xabi Alonso reportedly ready to reshape his squad after a disappointing 2025/26 campaign.
The Blues finished 10th in the Premier League and failed to qualify for European competition, leading to significant changes behind the scenes.
Alonso will officially take charge of Chelsea on July 1 and has reportedly been given greater control over transfers as he looks to build a squad capable of competing at the top level again.
He has notably been given the role of ‘manager’ rather than ‘head coach’ – the first to be appointed by BlueCo and Todd Boehly with the title.
Will Garnacho leave Chelsea?
According to reports, Chelsea are now willing to listen to offers for several players as they make room for new arrivals.
One of the biggest talking points concerns Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine winger only joined Chelsea from Manchester United last summer in a deal worth around £40 million, but reports suggest Alonso does not view him as an untouchable member of the squad.
Garnacho endured a difficult first season at Stamford Bridge, struggling to make a major impact as Chelsea‘s campaign fell apart.
The club are reportedly open to offers if suitable bids arrive during the transfer window.
Four players on transfer list
Chelsea are also believed to have identified four players they are willing to sell this summer.
Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is among those expected to leave. The Danish shot-stopper arrived with high expectations but has failed to establish himself as a regular starter and is reportedly keen to secure more playing time elsewhere.
Defender Axel Disasi is another player likely to depart. The French centre-back spent part of last season on loan and is now expected to find a permanent move after falling out of Chelsea’s long-term plans.
Chelsea reportedly ‘accept’ that one of Marc Guiu, Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson needs to be sold this summer.

Alonso shaping his own squad
While Chelsea are prepared to sell several players, the club have also made it clear that some members of the squad will remain key figures.
Recent reports indicate that highly-rated defender Josh Acheampong is considered an important part of the club’s future despite interest from several clubs.
Chelsea have reportedly rejected approaches for the youngster and view him as a player who can play a major role under Alonso.
The likes of Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro, Estevao Willian, Moises Caicedo and as mentioned, Acheampong, however, are not for sale.
The summer transfer window is expected to be crucial for Chelsea as Alonso attempts to oversee a major rebuild once he joins the club on July 1.
With departures likely and new signings expected, Stamford Bridge could look very different by the time the new season begins.
