Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven is on the radar of Spanish giants Real Madrid following failed contract talks.
Van de Ven, 24, has become Spurs’ prized asset since his arrival from Wolfsburg in 2023 but may be eyeing up a summer exit following a disastrous 2025/26 season for the North London club.
With relegation firmly on the cards, Dutch international Van de Ven will be attracting interest from top clubs across Europe, and TEAMtalk report Real Madrid are set to make an approach in the summer.

Champions League, not Championship
Despite battles with injuries in his first two seasons at the club under Ange Postecoglou, Van de Ven has established a reputation as one of the elite central defenders in the Premier League.
His electric pace makes the Dutchman an anomaly of a defender, which will be sure to catch the eyes of bosses across Europe’s top sides.
Van de Ven is under contract until 2029, however the club are intent on locking their star man down to a new deal with a bumper salary increase from his reported £90,000 a week current earnings.
Talks are said to have been put on hold as Spurs’ future in the top flight remains undecided, although even if they are to avoid the drop it will prove difficult to convince Van de Ven of the long term project.
A future Galactico
A move to Real Madrid is often the pinnacle of a players’ career, as Spurs found out when Luka Modric and Gareth Bale moved to the Spanish capital.
Los Blancos may well be losing David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger in the summer, with a move for Van de Ven in the offing giving his unsettled situation.
Madrid aren’t alone as a potential suitor, with Liverpool and Manchester United hoping to keep Van de Ven on British shores, with a move to Anfield to partner international teammate Virgil Van Dijk timely as Ibrahima Konate looks set to leave in the summer on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old has played in all bar two of Spurs’ Premier League games this season, and should Igor Tudor keep his team in the division an asking price for Van de Ven is set to be in the region of £100 million.
