Arsenal join Liverpool in race for Bradley Barcola as Yan Diomande hopes remain alive

Liverpool could still have a chance of signing both Bradley Barcola and Yan Diomande this summer despite growing competition and recent setbacks in the transfer market.

The Reds have been heavily linked with RB Leipzig winger Diomande in recent weeks, but it now appears the 19-year-old favours a move to Paris Saint-Germain instead.

PSG are currently in talks with Leipzig after the French champions emerged as the player’s preferred destination, leaving Liverpool searching for alternatives.

One player who has moved to the top of Liverpool’s shortlist is PSG winger Bradley Barcola.

However, Arne Slot’s side are not alone in their pursuit, with Arsenal also monitoring the France international as they continue to strengthen their attack this summer.

Arsenal join Barcola race

According to reports, Arsenal remain interested in Barcola as sporting director Andrea Berta looks to add another wide forward to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Liverpool have admired the 23-year-old for some time, and his situation at PSG has only increased their interest.

Despite enjoying another successful season, Barcola has reportedly become frustrated by a lack of starts in some of the club’s biggest matches, while he is also yet to agree a new contract with the European champions.

PSG are still reluctant to sell the winger and are expected to demand a huge transfer fee if they are forced into negotiations.

Reports suggest the French club value Barcola at more than £110 million, making any potential deal difficult for both Liverpool and Arsenal.

With the France international performing well and scoring at the World Cup 2026, interest is only expected to grow, making the race for his signature all the more intriguing.

Liverpool not giving up on Diomande

Although Diomande appears to favour PSG, Liverpool have not completely abandoned their pursuit.

According to CaughtOffside, the Merseyside club remain in contact over the winger’s situation and are prepared to wait in case negotiations between PSG and Leipzig break down.

Liverpool are still monitoring developments rather than walking away from the deal entirely.

That leaves Liverpool with two possible routes to strengthen their attack.

If Diomande ultimately joins PSG, Barcola could become more attainable should increased competition for places convince him to seek a new challenge. On the other hand, if PSG fail to land Diomande, Liverpool could yet revive their pursuit of the highly-rated Leipzig youngster.

For now, both transfer stories remain open as Liverpool continue exploring their attacking options ahead of the new season.
