Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Jorgen Strand Larsen.
The striker joins from Wolves and has been on the club’s radar for weeks.
The 25-year-old has scored just one goal in his 22 Premier League appearances so far this season.
Palace were preparing for the departure of Jean-Philippe Mateta, but his proposed move to AC Milan has fallen through.
Here, Transfer News Blitz writer Emily Clogg looks at the move and how it has come to be one of the biggest stories of the window.

STRAND LARSEN’S BIG FEE
£48m for a player who has scored just one goal in the league so far this season sounds bizarre.
Strand Larsen, though, is simply struggling to find form alongside his Wolves team-mates.
The club are rock bottom of the Premier League, and look destined for relegation.
Last season, the 25-year-old proved his worth.
He bagged himself 14 top-flight goals, as well as five assists, making a name for himself as a top striker in the division.
Strand Larsen has also made 24 caps for Norway, which is no mean feat when your competition is Erling Haaland.
THE SAGA
So, where does this all leave Jean-Philippe Mateta?
Well, he was all set for a move to Serie A giants AC Milan, but his departure fell through after he failed his medical.
Mateta has been very vocal in his desire to leave the club.
He recently unfollowed Crystal Palace on Instagram after making a post seemingly venting his frustration at their lack of cooperation in finding him a move.
He now looks set to stay at Selhurst Park, but this hasn’t stopped Palace from bringing in Strand Larsen.
It may be an awkward remainder of the season for Mateta, whose relationship with the fans has turned sour.
For Strand Larsen, though, this move provides him with a great opportunity to show the league what he’s all about.
