Premier League transfer news: Bayern Munich eye March Guehi amid Premier League interest

Guehi to Bayern

With his name plastered across the tabloids all summer, Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi looks set for another hectic spell as the transfer window edges closer.

Bayern Munich, who did more than enough talking in the last window, are already gearing up to dominate the headlines again.

Transfer News Blitz writer Luke Maddison breaks down the latest links, the looming tug-of-war for Guehi, and his prediction for where the centre-back might ultimately end up.

GLORIOUS GUEHI

It’s no surprise that the 25-year-old has cemented himself as one of the Premier League’s standout defenders in recent seasons.

Guehi’s reading of the game, combined with his elite defensive instincts, explains why so many top clubs have him pinned to their shortlist.

Unfortunately for Palace, it looks like he’ll be the latest star packing his bags – continuing the club’s all-too-familiar cycle of losing its best talents.

Reports in September revealed that the defender rejected a new contract and intends to leave this summer, when his current deal expires.

His exit will be yet another blow for owner Steve Parish. I’d say I’m starting to feel sorry for him… but let’s be honest, I’m really not.

At this rate, he’s lost more key players than Wolves have lost matches – and that’s saying something.

MARC TO MUNICH?

After calling my beloved Newcastle United “idiots” for signing Nick Woltemade in the summer, Bayern Munich are back sniffing around the Premier League once again.

It’s been reported that sporting director Max Eberl plans to hold talks with Guehi in January regarding a possible move. This will be the first window in which the defender is eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.

Having already prised Michael Olise away from Palace last year, Bayern are returning like that ex who simply refuses to get the message.

There’s still interest from England, too. Liverpool remains keen on securing a deal, while Manchester United are monitoring developments. But after watching both sides this season, Guehi has probably blocked Arne Slot and Ruben Amorim’s numbers just to be safe.

MY PREDICTION

Guehi’s departure from Selhurst Park feels inevitable—he might leave faster than you can belt out “Glad All Over.”

A move to Manchester City shouldn’t be ruled out, especially with their never-ending mission to assemble a squad larger than most small towns. But truthfully, predicting his destination is like predicting VAR: pure guesswork.

Still, if I had to call it, I’d say Guehi finds himself abroad next season. And Bayern Munich—persistent as ever—look the most likely to get their man.
