Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has suggested that Mohamed Salah is past his best and Liverpool should look to offload the superstar in the summer.
The renowned Sky Sports and TalkSport pundit has revealed his thoughts on the Egyptian forward in an exclusive interview with 10bet.
Liverpool have somewhat faltered this season, following on from the heights of winning the Premier League last season.
Time to move on
Speaking about 33-year-old playmaker Salah, O’Hara said: “Yeah, I think it’s the right time for Salah to move on.
“I think Liverpool need to move on.
“He’s been an unbelievable servant, a legend of the football club.
“But he looks miles off. It doesn’t look the same.
“He’s snatching at chances and it looks like he’s lost a bit of sharpness as well.”

Dip in form
Given Salah’s age, many may believe O’Hara is not too far off the mark here, and it seems a common belief among fans that the forward’s form has dipped this season along with other senior players at Anfield.
O’Hara even suggested Liverpool already have their replacement already at the club, adding: “It’s all about getting it to Florian Wirtz. That’s the team ethic now, get it to Florian Wirtz and he makes things happen.”
O’Hara believes that Liverpool do not play the right system for Salah anymore, saying: “Everything used to be about getting Salah the final ball, that was the move.
“Work it through midfield or hit diagonal balls, get it to Trent in little pockets, bang, put Salah in. They don’t do that anymore.”
Row with Reds boss
Despite signing a new contract at the end of last season, it seems Salah may have one foot out of the Anfield door following his row with Reds boss Arne Slot before Christmas.
Speculation surrounding a move to Saudi Arabia has swirled for a while in regards to Salah, with the financial benefits of making the switch to the Middle East being what appeals to many ageing players.
Salah’s form has dipped, netting a mere seven goals in 26 times so far this season, a significant fall from grace since last season.
There is no doubt that many big European clubs will be interested in the forward should he become available, though issues may arise over Salah’s meteoric wage demands.
Should Salah’s time on Merseyside come to an end in the summer, it will have been one hell of a ride, etching himself into the club’s history with what he has achieved at Anfield.
