Aston Villa, AFC Bournemouth, Fulham FC and Brentford FC have all made enquiries about Abdul Fatawu ahead of the summer transfer window, Binge Football can exclusively reveal through chief correspondent Patrick McAshietey-Zigah.
Brentford and Fulham are currently leading the chase for the Leicester City winger, although the Ghana international remains settled in the Midlands for now.
Champions League hopefuls Aston Villa are also viewed as an attractive potential destination.
Binge Football understands that Fatawu’s price tag could drop significantly if Leicester suffer relegation to League One, with the club’s ongoing struggles threatening to dent his market value despite his most productive campaign to date.
Scouts monitoring progress
The Foxes are believed to value the 22-year-old at around £5million, with Bournemouth, Fulham and Villa all sending scouts to monitor his progress this season, while Brentford’s interest dates back to last year.
Fatawu was previously linked with Liverpool FC before joining Sporting CP, where he made just 12 appearances prior to his move to Leicester on loan.
He made an immediate impact at the King Power Stadium, playing a key role in Leicester’s EFL Championship title-winning campaign and promotion back to the Premier League.
The winger featured 43 times in all competitions, scoring seven goals – including a first senior hat-trick in a 5–0 victory over Southampton FC – quickly becoming a fan favourite.
Undisclosed fee
Leicester moved to sign him permanently from Sporting in the summer of 2024 on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
However, his momentum was halted after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury while on international duty with Ghana national football team, ruling him out for the remainder of the 2024–25 season.
Fatawu has returned strongly this term, registering nine goals and seven assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.
He is not believed to have a buyout clause in his contract, although Leicester would be open to offers if the player pushes for a move, according to Binge Football’s exclusive story.
Fatawu has also been named in Ghana’s 26-man squad for upcoming friendlies against Austria and Germany later this month, as preparations continue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
