Once a prolific Premier League goalscorer for Wolves, Raul Jimenez revealed the possibility of a return while initial conversations between Fulham and Wolves have taken place.
With nine league goals for Fulham this campaign, the 35-year-old remains an effective forward despite his career naturally beginning to wind down.
His former club, Wolves, have endured a horrific season and look likely to finish at the foot of the table unless they overcome Burnley on Sunday, May 24, for a first away win of the season.
Whether the Mexican will step down to the Championship remains unanswered as he prepares for his fourth World Cup this summer.
A Wolves cult hero
During his five years in Wolverhampton, Jimenez scored 57 goals and assisted 23 in the club’s most successful period for four decades.
Alongside the likes of Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and the late Diogo Jota, the striker was a crucial part of the team that finished seventh and qualified for the Europa League in 2018/19.
While playing against Arsenal in November 2020, Jimenez suffered a fractured skull injury following a horrific head collision with Arsenal defender, David Luiz.
The Mexican was sidelined for ten months with doubts around whether he would be able to continue his career and return to the football pitch.
Jimenez scored his first league goal since the injury, against Southampton in September 2021, but failed to find his best form in Old Gold.
A deal with Fulham was agreed in 2023, bringing his time at Wolves to an end.

Hinting at a move
The striker was introduced as a substitute when Fulham travelled to Molineux on Sunday and was met with a standing ovation from 26,000 home fans.
Soon after the game, Jimenez revealed to the Express and Star the “possibility” of a return to the club of which he is the all-time Premier League top goalscorer.
When asked whether he could return to Wolves, Jimenez told the Express and Star: “Why not? There is always a possibility, let’s see.
“It would be nice, more after today, let’s see,” he added, in reference to the positive reception given by his former club.
The conversations between Fulham and Wolves are reported to be in the very early stages still.
Clubs in the MLS are also said to hold an interest in the striker as his contract expires this summer.
The romance of a homecoming and remaining in England may be a strong pull for Jimenez. However, Wolves fans will be incredibly keen for this move to materialise.
