Everton and Manchester City have reportedly reached an agreement for Jack Grealish to rejoin the Toffees on another season-long loan.
The 30-year-old spent his 2025/26 campaign at Everton, becoming an important player under David Moyes before a stress fracture in his foot ruled him out for the remainder of the season.
Grealish’s return comes as Everton reshape their attack on deadline day, with Iliman Ndiaye joining Man City.
Grealish has completed his medical at Finch Farm and is now awaiting the formal announcement of his return.
Jack Grealish returns to Everton on loan
The move offers Grealish a chance to play regular first-team football after making just two brief substitute appearances under Enzo Maresca during the opening weeks of the season.
Grealish is entering the final year of his Manchester City contract this season, meaning the loan move could also determine his next club when his current deal expires next summer.
Everton are understood to be covering a portion of his wages, showing their commitment to bringing Grealish back to Hill Dickinson.
Iliman Ndiaye leaves Everton for Manchester City
Meanwhile, Man City have hijacked Tottenham Hotspur‘s advanced pursuit of Ndiaye, agreeing a deal worth an initial £60 million plus £5 million in performance-related add-ons.
Tottenham had previously agreed a fee with Everton, but Man City’s late move changed the situation after their pursuit of Liverpool’s forward Cody Gakpo failed.
Ndiaye became an important part of Everton’s attack, contributing 17 goals in 74 appearances during his two seasons at the club.
Ndiaye’s move to Man City leaves David Moyes without an important attacking player, with Grealish returning to Everton as the club reshapes its forward line.

Everton reshape their forward line
Everton’s frontline overhaul continued at pace with a deal to sign Folarin Balogun from AS Monaco for approximately £40 million.
The USMNT forward arrives to bolster Everton’s attacking options and add depth in the final third.
Balogun’s arrival became more important after Everton accepted an offer from Fiorentina for Portuguese striker Beto.
Everton’s attacking changes also follow the collapse of their attempt to bring Richarlison back from Tottenham.
The club has also completed a swap deal with Crystal Palace that saw Brennan Johnson arrive at Everton and Dwight McNeil head in the opposite direction, adding pace on the flanks while also agreeing a £21 million signing of Merlin Rohl from Freiburg.
Everton also signed the highly-rated Chelsea prospect Tyrique George for £18 million, continuing their busy recruitment under Moyes.
Grealish’s return gives Moyes another attacking option as Everton head into the new season with a significantly different forward line.
