Championship analysis: Three players promoted Leeds Utd and Burnley should look at in the Premier League
After Leeds United’s 6-0 demolition of Stoke and Burnley’s huge 2-1 victory over Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United, the top two in the Championship have confirmed their promotion to the Premier League next season.
In recent years, sides promoted to the English top-flight have struggled to stay up - this season Leicester City and Southampton have already been relegated, with it seemingly just a matter of time for Ipswich Town.
With that in mind, Daniel Farke and Scott Parker will need to reinforce their squads if they are to break the streak.
Transfer News Blitz writer Joe Matthews has identified three players the Premier League newcomers could bring in to secure survival.
Wataru Endo, Liverpool
Wataru Endo has become somewhat of a fan favourite since he was brought to Liverpool by Jürgen Klopp in 2023, and his point-securing antics on the pitch have certainly helped the Reds towards the Premier League title this season.
Nevertheless, with Arne Slot wanting to completely revamp his squad this summer, there have been plenty of rumours suggesting the Japanese midfielder may be set for a move away.
Many teams struggle to retain and win back the ball when they are first introduced to Premier League pitches, so bringing in a player of Endo’s stature to help lock down the centre of the park could be a great step towards survival.
Furthermore, the 32-year-old is predicted to be worth around €10million, so a deal could be struck around the €20million mark quite reasonably, giving him some amazing value for money.
Tyrique George, Chelsea
Yes, I can appreciate that this is very optimistic, but Tyrique George would be a great player for a promoted side to take a gamble on.
Now that he has had a taste of Premier League and European football, scoring against Fulham just the other day, he will likely be looking for more regular starts next season, as he looks to move on from the U21s.
With fast feet and the knowledge passed onto him through years at Cobham, the 18-year-old could be the player to ignite a Premier League survival story.

Honourable mention - Gustavo Hamer, Sheffield United
With Sheffield United now unable to take an automatic promotion place, it seems absurd that Gustavo Hamer might not be playing Premier League football next term.
Of course, there is the chance the Blades gain promotion through the play-offs for the first time in the club’s history.
Regardless, should they fail to do so, the Brazilian-Dutchman is an easy player to target considering the quality he possesses as a footballer.
Victor Lindelöf, Manchester United
Victor Lindelöf has been part of a Manchester United squad that has seen one of the club’s most turbulent times ever.
Since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club in 2013, the Red Devils have struggled to get going, and with new boss Ruben Amorim looking to shake things up, it looks like central defence is well covered.
The Swedish international has had periods in favour since he joined United in the summer of 2017, and has amassed an impressive 277 appearances in total.
However, with Amorim already signing Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt, it could finally be time to move on.
Nevertheless, he would come with 189 Premier League games of experience, along with 48 clean sheets and 9 trophies, including the FA Cup and EFL Cup with Man United.
Lindelöf could be a fantastic signing for a promoted side looking to strengthen their defence.
