Premier League betting tips: Ange Postecoglou ‘likely’ to leave Tottenham Hotspur as Mauricio Pochettino linked

Hovering just two places above the Premier League relegation zone - albeit separated by 16 points - Tottenham Hotspur have had a season to forget.

Injuries have plagued Ange Postecoglou’s squad, but with 18 defeats in 33 Premier League games this season, the Australian is ‘likely’ to leave North London in the summer, according to the Telegraph.

The 59-year-old could leave with his head held high with Spurs on the cusp of their first European triumph since 1984.

Norwegian side FK Bodø/Glimt stand between the Whites and a place in the Europa League final on May 21.

As ‘Big Ange’ heads towards the door at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Transfer News Blitz Content Editor Edward Moss has gathered the best odds on the next permanent Spurs boss.

Mauricio Pochettino

Seemingly linked with a return to North London every few years, Mauricio Pochettino spent just over five seasons at the helm of Tottenham Hotspur.

While Spurs supporters may be hoping for a fairytale reunion with the Argentine, a ‘homecoming’ of sorts is highly unlikely.

The 53-year-old took charge of the United States national team last September, and with a World Cup just around the corner, there is no way Pochettino would leave.

BEST ODDS: 9/2 (bet365)

Andoni Iraola

Andoni Iraola has exceeded expectations at AFC Bournemouth, with the Cherries perched just below the European spots.

If the Spaniard continues his good form on the South Coast, it will only be a matter of time until a bigger club swoops in.

Tottenham could be an ideal next step for the 42-year-old, presenting a fairly low-pressure opportunity at a far greater club.

Not to mention, Iraola would get to move closer to his best mate, Mikel Arteta, the boss of Spurs’ fierce rivals Arsenal.

The two were childhood friends and teammates at Antiguoko, a club in San Sebastián.

Thomas Frank

Having spent little under seven years in charge of Brentford, Thomas Frank is another manager endlessly linked with a move away.

The Dane guided Brentford to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history in 2021, and the Bees have never really looked back.

Undoubtedly a club legend, it is hard to see Frank leave West London any time soon, but the 51-year-old will certainly be someone that Tottenham look at to replace Postcoglou.

Kieran McKenna

Despite Ipswich Town staring down the barrel of relegation to the Championship, Kieran McKenna has earned plenty of plaudits.

With two promotions in two years, the Northern Irishman led the Tractor Boys to the Premier League for the first time in 22 years.

Seen as one of the most promising young coaches in English football, it would be no surprise if McKenna was poached over the summer.

The 38-year-old has even proved he can do it at Spurs, beating the North Londoners 2-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in November.

BEST ODDS: 12/1 (bet365 / BetVictor)

Scott Parker

Scott Parker has led Burnley back to the Premier League at the first time of asking this season.

The Clarets are the third club that the 44-year-old has achieved promotion with - impressive given his relatively short managerial career.

Having spent two years at Tottenham as a player, Parker will be a familiar face in North London.

The Englishman also started his managerial journey at Spurs, coaching the club’s U18 side for the 2017/18 season.

While Parker does have a pretty bad record in the Premier League, he is still a promising young coach, and one Tottenham could consider.
