Man Utd news: Marcus Rashford heads for United exit as Ruben Amorim interested in Champions League star
Ruben Amorim has endured a tough start to life at Manchester United, as the true scale of the job at Old Trafford has revealed itself.
The 39-year-old has had mixed results in his first five matches in charge of United, picking up two wins, two losses, and a draw in all competitions.
Slowly but surely, the Portuguese manager is figuring out his squad and making big decisions on big players, as several big names have reportedly been told to leave the club.
The latest player on that list is academy graduate Marcus Rashford, with the club supposedly looking to free up the 27-year-old’s huge salary, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Good, but not good enough?
Rashford has enjoyed somewhat of an upturn in form under the new Man Utd boss, scoring three goals in five games.
However, the English forward has been benched in both of United’s recent defeats to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, which could be a sign of things to come for Rashford.
Undoubtedly talented, Rashford has had a tough couple of years in terms of goalscoring and overall play, with the United forward notably being left out of England’s Euro 2024 squad, where the Three Lions reached the final.
The Man Utd higherups are open to letting Rashford leave to free up Financial Fair Play points, which would give the Red Devils more room to manoeuvre in the transfer market, according to Sky Sports Germany.
A move away from the club could be a huge opportunity for Rashford to get a fresh start, with French giants Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested.

From Lille to Manchester
Amorim and Manchester United are already looking at new players to improve the squad and are ready to battle a host of Europe’s elite teams for one Champions League star.
United, Arsenal and Barcelona are all keen on signing Lille’s Canadian attacker Jonathan David.
The 24-year-old’s contract at the French club is up in the Summer, and with no sign of David signing a new deal, he could be tempted with a move away.
Touted as Lille’s best player, the Canada international has scored 17 goals and contributed three assists in all competitions this season – bagging four in the Champions League.
David would undoubtedly be a fantastic addition to any team, and with the risk of losing their star man for free in the Summer, Lille could look to cash in this January.
