Man Utd news: United make enquires for Milos Kerkez and Tyrick Mitchell as Ruben Amorim targets new left-back
Manchester United’s nightmare season looks set to continue, as the Red Devils fell to yet another loss at Old Trafford last weekend.
Brighton & Hove Albion ran out 3-1 winners, as United lost for the sixth time at home in the Premier League.
According to The i, Ruben Amorim has reportedly prioritised signing a new left-back this January, as the Manchester club sits 13th in the table.
Transfer News Blitz’s Content Editor, Edward Moss, has explored who could be heading to Old Trafford, as the Red Devils have reportedly sent out enquiries for several Premier League full-backs.
Milos Kerkez, AFC Bournemouth
Bournemouth and Hungary left-back Milos Kerkez has been linked with some of the biggest names in football, with Liverpool and Manchester United weighing up moves for the defender.
The 21-year-old signed for the Cherries from Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar in 2023, with Andoni Iraola set to demand upwards of £50million for the full-back.
Kerkez has been a fantastic signing for the South Coast club and has made 23 appearances, contributing two goals and three assists in all competitions this season.
The Hungarian is solid defensively and an attacking threat going forward, so would be a great fit for Amorim’s 3-4-3 system at United.

Tyrick Mitchell, Crystal Palace
Clubs across Europe have been rumoured to be interested in Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell, with the likes of Atletico Madrid and AC Milan rumoured to be interested.
The Palace academy graduate is also on Man United’s radar, with the club enquiring about the Englishman’s availability this January.
Crystal Palace will be reluctant to let Mitchell leave the club, especially after Chelsea recently recalled Trevor Chalobah from the Eagles.
The full-back would be a good addition to the Red Devils’ backline, however, convincing Palace to sell may prove to be difficult.
Rayan Aït-Nouri, Wolverhampton Wanderers
Since arriving in the Black Country from French side Angers SCO, Rayan Aït-Nouri has been heavily linked with the Premier League ‘big boys’.
The Algerian defender has been a standout player for Wolverhampton Wanderers for several years and has produced eight goal contributions in a lacklustre Wolves team this season.
There is no doubt that the 23-year-old is destined for better things, and the left-back would slip perfectly into Amorim’s system at Old Trafford.
Aït-Nouri would cost a pretty penny this January - upwards of £50million - but the Algeria international would be more than worth it, and make the left-back position at United his own for years to come.
