Newcastle Utd news: Eddie Howe targeting moves for Premier League attacking duo

Eddie How could be forced to look for a new talisman in January

Newcastle United have had a fairly inconsistent start to their Premier League campaign, with the Magpies currently stuck 12th in the table.

Eddie Howe’s side has picked up big results against sides such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City but has also dropped points to the likes of Brighton and West Ham.

The North-East club have scored just 17 goals in the Premier League, and with their main man Alexander Isak being linked with a big move away, Newcastle are looking at other options.

Impressing on the South Coast

One name the Toon have been linked with is AFC Bournemouth’s Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo.

Since joining the Cherries from Bristol City just under two years ago, the 24-year-old has improved season by season.

In his first full Premier League campaign at Bournemouth last season, Semenyo scored eight and contributed a further two assists.

However, with four goals and one assist already this season, the Ghana international looks set to smash his goal tally from last year.

Semenyo can play anywhere across the front line, making him a highly versatile asset and one that Newcastle could make a move for this January.

Ready for a big move

Bryan Mbeumo appears to be one of the most sought-after players this January – much to the displeasure of the Brentford faithful.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool already, but the Magpies are also interested, according to i Sport.

The Cameroonian forward has enjoyed a great start to the new season, scoring eight goals in 14 games for the Bees.

Brentford will not want to let one of their star players go, and if they do, it will be for a hefty price, meaning Newcastle may have to sell before they buy.
