Tottenham news: Spurs weighing up a move for England and Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze
Tottenham Hotspur have been inconsistent this season, with the North Londoners sitting 13th in the Premier League table.
Spurs' dismal league form means they will have to focus solely on the Europa League if they hope to play European football next season.
Despite this, Ange Postecoglou appears to have one eye on the future, with Tottenham reportedly keen on a move for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
Will Eberechi Eze cost too much?
As per GIVEMESPORT, Eze has a £68million release clause in his Crystal Palace contract.
It would be highly unlikely for the Eagles to let one of their key players leave for any less, which may put off potential bidders.
Interested clubs - including Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Napoli - reportedly value the England international at around £50million.
The 26-year-old sees Spurs as “the most interested side in his talents”, according to GIVEMESPORT, and would prefer to stay in London if he leaves Selhurst Park in the summer.
Is Eberechi Eze worth the money?
Since moving to South London from Queens Park Rangers in 2020, Eze has been one of Crystal Palace’s main men.
The attacker has tallied six goals and seven assists in all competitions this season, with eight of those goal contributions coming in the Premier League.
Last season was arguably his best in a Palace shirt, as Gareth Southgate handed Eze a EURO 2024 call-up for England last summer.
Whilst the forward has bags of talent and potential, £68million is a lot of money - and money that interested clubs will be reluctant to pay.
If Oliver Glasner refuses to sell Eze for any less than his release clause, then there is a huge chance the Englishman will stay at Selhurst Park.
