What makes them great?

Arsenal have scored 42 goals in all competitions this season, including 24 in the Premier League, a major factor behind their current position at the top.

A standout feature of their attacking success has been set pieces. With 12 of their 24 league goals coming from dead-ball situations, Arteta’s emphasis on structured attacking routines is clearly paying off.

Defensively, the Gunners have been just as impressive. Before their 2–2 draw at the Stadium of Light earlier this month, they had gone eight games without conceding a goal.

Goalkeeper David Raya has been a crucial part of this run, keeping seven clean sheets and conceding only six goals so far. His consistency and command of the box have helped establish Arsenal as the league’s most balanced side.

The new recruits

Arsenal backed Arteta heavily in the summer, spending a remarkable £275 million, marking one of the club’s most ambitious windows ever.

One of many headline signings was England international Eberechi Eze, joining from Crystal Palace in a £67.5 million deal. Eze has been electric so far, including netting a stunning hat-trick in last week’s North London derby victory over Tottenham.

Another significant addition was Noni Madueke, who arrived from Chelsea for £48.5 million. The winger has registered a 71% pass accuracy and delivered 26 crosses, highlighting his growing influence in Arsenal’s chance creation.

Managing expectations

With the level of investment made and the team’s outstanding start, expectations around the Emirates are higher than ever. Arteta himself addressed the speculation, saying:

“You keep digging, digging and digging because one day the gold will be there.

We have to do it in a season to have one more point and more goals – that is the objective.”

After several seasons without major silverware, fans are beginning to demand a return on the club’s heavy spending and long-term rebuild.

With momentum building and a “now or never” feeling in the air, this season may truly be Arsenal’s best chance to reclaim the Premier League crown.
