Chelsea transfer news: Potential January incomings and outgoings at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea News: Potential incomings and outgoings at Stamford Bridge this January.

After a summer filled with arrivals and departures, Todd Boehly may be preparing for another busy time in the 2026 January transfer window.

The Blues have had an exciting campaign so far, currently sitting second in the Premier League.

With the club still competing in four different competitions, further adjustments to the squad could be on the cards.

Here, Transfer News Blitz writer Luke Maddison takes you through the potential incomings and outgoings at Stamford Bridge this January.

It was widely reported that Chelsea had their eyes on Antoine Semenyo in the summer transfer window, with him being a top target for the West London side.

But after Bournemouth demanded £100m for his services, Chelsea walked away.

Following the Ghanaian international’s new five-year contract in July, it was revealed last week that a £65 million release clause will be active in January.

The question now is, could we see the Blues reignite their interest in the winger?

The clause is only active until a certain time of the month, so Chelsea would need to act fast if they want to trigger the clause.

Raheem Sterling (out)

Raheem Sterling’s potential exit feels almost inevitable. After being banished from the first-team squad by manager Enzo Maresca, it would take a miracle for the 30-year-old to play for the club again.

Maresca addressed Sterling’s isolation after claims were made that he was working under harsh conditions.

He said: “My father is 75-years-old and for 50 years he has been a fisherman working from two o’clock in the morning until 10 o’clock in the morning.

“This is a hard life. Not the way a player works.”

The Englishman and Chelsea could finally cut ties in the January transfer window, with both Leeds United and Crystal Palace being linked to sign the player.

Marc Guehi (in)

It was revealed last month that Guehi informed Crystal Palace that he will not sign a new contract at the club, leaving him set to depart for free when his current deal expires in the summer.

The January transfer window will be the final time Palace can cash in on the 25-year-old, with Chelsea potentially coming knocking.

The Blues will need to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Man United, but a move for the defender isn’t ruled out just yet.

If the club sell a centre-back in January, a potential hijack for Guehi could be on the cards.

As we know, Todd Boehly loves splashing the cash, and this situation might prove to be no exception.
