Man Utd news: Ruben Amorim targeting Crystal Palace and England star Eberechi Eze
Manchester United’s horror season continued on Sunday as Wolverhampton Wanderers secured a huge 1-0 win at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils find themselves in the bottom half of the Premier League table, hovering just two points above West Ham United, who occupy 17th place.
It has certainly been a campaign to forget for United, with Ruben Amorim preparing for a huge overhaul of his squad this summer.
Manchester United want Eberechi Eze
The 40-year-old has identified Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze as a key target for the upcoming transfer window.
As reported by Alan Nixon via Patreon, the Manchester club are hopeful of securing a deal for the England international.
However, fellow Premier League side Aston Villa are also ready to enter the race for the 26-year-old if they are unable to sign United forward Marcus Rashford at the end of his loan spell at Villa Park.
Eze has little over two years left on his current deal in South London, with Palace anticipating offers in the region of £50million for the Englishman.
Is Eberechi Eze ready for a big move?
After signing from Queens Park Rangers in 2020, Eze has become a key figure at Crystal Palace, making 160 appearances for the Eagles.
With the midfielder set to turn 27 in June, it certainly feels as though the clock is ticking for a ‘big’ move.
Eze has heavily impressed for both club and country, so it is no surprise that he has attracted a huge amount of interest.
While Palace will hope to keep hold of one of their main men, the higher-ups at Selhurst Park will be looking over their shoulders as Eze enters the final years of his contract.
The Eagles could be forced into a sale this summer or risk losing the Greenwich-born playmaker for a cut price, if not for free.
