Liverpool news: Arne Slot lining up move for AFC Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez

Liverpool are plotting a move for AFC Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Hungary international has impressed for the Cherries this season as they continue their push for European football.

In 27 Premier League appearances, Kerkez has scored two goals and provided four assists, but his defensive capabilities in the Bournemouth backline make him an attractive option for the Reds to pursue in the summer.

The current first-choice left-back for Liverpool, Andy Robertson, has been a crucial part of the club’s success over the years.

Reds tracking Milos Kerkez

However, his form this season hasn’t been so impressive, as Arne Slot may look to replace the Scotsman next season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Merseyside club have identified Kerkez as the ideal replacement, with a price tag of £40million set for the 21-year-old.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano confirmed that several teams are interested in securing his signature, including the Reds.

“Liverpool are tracking the player,” he revealed.

“Liverpool have been monitoring the player and Milos Kerkez will be in the list of several clubs including - but not only - Liverpool.

“For sure, [he] will be one to watch in the summer transfer window.”

Previous connection could lead to cut-price deal

A positive sign for supporters of the club will be sporting director Richard Hughes' prior experience with the former AC Milan defender.

Hughes brought Kerkez to England while he was the technical director at Bournemouth.

This familiarity could assist Liverpool in negotiating a fair deal to bring the Hungarian to Anfield.

Robertson’s stand-in for the last five seasons has been Kostas Tsimikas, who has featured 24 times across all competitions this year,

But the Greek International has also struggled to find form, leaving Slot keen to add competition at left-back for the 2025/26 campaign.
